Enrolment Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old at time of application.
• Mentally and physically fit such as not suffering from any eye disease(s) such as colour deficiency, epilepsy, mental disorder, sudden attack of giddiness or any disability, illness or physical condition which is likely to cause the driving of a motorcar or the riding of a motorcycle to be a source of danger to the public.
• Passed eye-sight and colour blindness tests.
• Have not accumulated more than 12 demerit points under the Driver Improvement Point System (DIPS).
• Applicants above the age of 65 or pregnant riders must produce a certified doctor's letter stating that he/she is fit for riding during the period of training and Traffic Police Tests.
   

Course Outline

Theory Lessons

• There are a total of 11 lessons requiring compulsory attendance. Refer to the flow chart for more details.
• Learners are advised to attend the theory lessons in sequential order.
• The duration of each lesson is 100 minutes.
• Be punctual for your theory lessons. Do bring along your Training Record Book for recording of attendance.
• You must pass the Internal Evaluation before being allowed to book the Basic Theory Test (BTT).
• You must pass the Internal Evaluation before being allowed to book the Riding Theory Test (RTT).
• You will need to complete all theory lessons and 8 practical stages before you are allowed to book for the Practical Riding Test.
• Booking of Theory Lesson can be made in person at the Customer Service Centre counters, via Self-Service kiosks or CDC’s online booking system.

Booking of e-Trial Test / Theory Lessons / Internal Evaluation

Booking of e-Trial Test / Theory Lessons / Internal Evaluation can be made:

• In person at the Customer Service Centre counters
• Via Self-Service kiosks
• Via CDC’s online booking system.

If you book a lesson but do not attend, a lesson fee of $8.03 will be charged when you book the next lesson. [An additional $8.03 is payable for each subsequent booking (repeated bookings) of any theory lesson].

With effect from 1 June 2010, the compulsory Internal Evaluation for Riding Theory will be chargeable at $5.00 (excluding GST) per attempt. Learners will have to pass the Internal Evaluation before you are allowed to book for Traffic Police Riding Theory Test.

Cancellation of e-Trial Tests / Theory Lessons / Internal Evaluation

Cancellation of e-Trial Test/ Theory Lesson / Internal Evaluation can be made:

• In person at the Customer Service Centre counters
• Via Self-Service kiosks
• Via CDC’s online booking system

Cancellation of Theory Lessons and Internal Evaluation must be made at least 2 working days (48 working hours - not inclusive of Public Holidays) in advance.

Once the learner exceeds the 18 cancellation counts, $5.35 will be levied for every subsequent cancellation. This applies to both theory and practical lessons.

Practical Lesson & Session Timings

• A minimum of 8 practical stages is required.
• The duration of each session is 100 minutes.
• Only one practical lesson may be booked at any one time.
• A Final Evaluation will be conducted by the centre to prepare you for your Riding Test.
• You are required to bring along your Training Record Book for every lesson. A valid PDL (Provisional Driving License) MUST BE PRODUCED for every circuit and road training lesson.

Booking of Practical Lessons / Circuit, Road Revision

Booking of Practical Lessons can be made:

• In person at the Customer Service Centre counters
• Via Self-Service kiosks
• Via CDC’s online booking system

Only one practical lesson may be booked at any one time.

No cancellation or postponement is allowed for Circuit/Road Revision Lessons.

Cancellation of Practical Lessons/Circuit, Road Revision

Cancellation of Practical Lessons can be made:

• In person at the Customer Service Centre counters
• Via Self-Service kiosks
• Via CDC’s online booking system

Cancellation of any Practical Lesson must be made at least 2 working days (48 working hours - not inclusive of Public Holidays)
in advance.

Cancellations on the grounds of last minute or emergency cases including Medical Leave will not be entertained. No cancellation will be accepted on Public Holiday or when the centre is closed. If the practical lessons fall on the day after a Public Holiday or when the centre is closed, cancellation must be made not less than 48 working hours.

The amount paid for the duly successfully cancelled lesson, less any applicable cancellation charge(s), will be credited back to the Learner's Store Value Account. No cancellation charge(s) will be imposed on the Learner so long as the total number of lessons cancelled does not exceed 18 times for the first year of enrolment.

Every learner is entitled to 18 Cancellation Counts, once you exceed your cancellation counts, $5.35 will be levied for every subsequent cancellation. This applies to both Theory and Practical Lessons.

No cancellation or postponement is allowed for Circuit Revision Lessons.
 

Booking of Basic Theory Test / Riding Theory Test

Booking of Basic Theory Test / Riding Theory Test can be made:

• In person at the Customer Service Centre counters
• Via Self-Service kiosks
• Via CDC’s online booking system

No cancellation or refund of Basic Theory Test / Riding Theory Test date is allowed once booked.

Learners will have to pass an internal evaluation before you are allowed to book for Traffic Police Basic Theory Test / Riding Theory Test. 

With effect from 1 June 2010, the compulsory Internal Evaluation for Riding Theory will be chargeable at $5.00 (excluding GST) per attempt.

Please note that cancellation of the internal evaluation must be made at least 2 working days (48 working hours - not inclusive of Public Holidays) in advance.

Important Notice: NO Refund for Test cancellation
With effect from 1 October 2008, there will be NO REFUND of test fee for any cancellation of your test date by you.

• You are allowed to book for one test only.
• No multiple bookings of tests across the test centres is allowed.
• Any multiple bookings of test will be cancelled and no refund of the test fees will be made.

Please ensure compliance before you confirm your booking.
 

Booking of Practical Riding Test

Booking of Practical Riding Test can be made:

• In person at the Customer Service Centre counters
• Via Self-Service kiosks
• Via CDC’s online booking system

Learners must fulfil the following criteria:

• Completed all theoretical lessons which includes passing the Traffic Police Basic Theory Test and Riding Theory Test (Riding Theory Test result is valid for a period of 1 year only).
• Must pass Practical stage 8 (Circuit and Road Evaluation) before booking the Practical Riding Test.
• Must produce a valid PDL (Provisional Driving Licence).
• Must produce Training Record Book.
• Have not accumulated more than 12 demerit points under the Driver Improvement Point System (DIPS).
• Pregnant riders must produce a certified doctor's letter stating that she is fit for riding during the test.

No cancellation or refund of Practical Riding Test date is allowed once booked.

With effect from 1st Oct 2008, there will be NO REFUND of test fees, vehicle rental and warming up fees for any cancellation of test date by you or the system.
 

Re-Test

Learners must undergo a compulsory Re-Training which is a Traffic Police pre-requisite when applying for a re-test.

Application Documents

• Original Identity Card or Passport.
• 1 recent passport-size photograph.
• Student Pass, Work Permit or Employment Pass and Passport (for foreigners only).

Photocopies will not be accepted.
